Dauin is known for its “muck diving” and rare animal species. It is a mecca for underwater photographers. Encounter the most unusual sea creatures on earth in the brown sandy areas along the coast. The colorful reefs of Dauin are not to be missed. Passing whale sharks, barracudas, turtles and schools of fish in the open water are also always a highlight. This friendly destination is perfect for a combination of excellent muck diving and the opportunity to experience the Filipino way of life.
Dive Society & Kokay’s Diving Shop Malapascua
Malapascua Island is considered to be one of the few places in the world where you can regularly see the endangered thresher sharks with almost 100% probability while diving. This is why the island at the northern end of Cebu in the Philippine Visayas has become a destination for diving tourists from all over the world. Malapascua is quite small, and you can take a leisurely stroll around the island in two to three hours. The main activities are swimming and diving. Despite the rapidly increasing number of dive centers and resorts, the island has not lost its charm.

When I blindly checked into the diving school on the recommendation of a friend, I was not disappointed on the spot, it was like “coming home” without ever having been there before.
For me as a photographer, in addition to the usual on-site facilities, competence and flexibility are particularly important. From the camera room with enough light and space to the super competent staff and tidy boats, fresh water basins where a fully set up camera fits in and the dive guides. The respectful treatment of the underwater world is important to me. It became a living reality. The incredible knowledge paired with the appropriate way of dealing with it inspired me. I wish you all the best and many guests. I know that everyone who has been there once will definitely want to go again.
As a Dive Center owner in Switzerland, I have high demands on the Diving Centers at my holiday destination. How will my diving equipment be handled? What about my photography equipment? What are the safety precautions on the boat? How are guests looked after? Yes, they take care of my material, everything is very good. Thanks to the membrane compressor I get 100% quality air/nitrox.
