Dive Center infos
Location and facilities
The Dive Society diving center is located on the premises of the Sea Dream Resort in Dauin, south of Dumaguete in Negros Oriental. The diving center was specially designed to meet the requirements and needs of divers. To do justice to this, there is always enough new, modern material (e.g. lead-integrated jackets, Apeks regulators) and rental equipment from well-known manufacturers available. Only some of our aluminum bottles have DIN valves. Please bring an INT-DIN adapter for DIN regulators.
Daily routine
Our three diving boats go to different dive sites every day. A minimum of four (4) dives can be made each day. You can dive all day long at the house reef “Star Village”.
- 07.30am – Full day trip with 3 dives
- 8:00 a.m. – Half day trip with 2 dives
- 8:30 a.m., 11 a.m. + 2:30 p.m. – Individual dives by boat on the coast
- 4.45pm – Mandarin Dives every Wednesday
- 5:45 p.m. – Night dives are possible daily
Dive planning is done daily together with our guests. We visit over 40 different dive sites such as Apo-, Siquijor-, Sumilon Island and Oslob.
Diving equipment + safety
Diving equipment is brought onto the boats by our team for all diving trips. The divers check these before departure and enjoy the day diving.
After the trips, our team takes over the equipment again, brings it back to the diving center, rinses it in fresh water and stores everything.
Safety is very important to us. All our divers are required to carry a safety buoy and dive computer on every dive. Oxygen emergency equipment and first aid materials are available on every boat and in the dive center. Our crew is trained for emergencies.
Getting there
Arrival in Dauin, Negros Oriental
The journey to Dauin takes place with an international flight to Manila. Then we continue on a domestic flight to Dumaguete. There you will be picked up by our hotel bus and driven to the Sea Dream Resorts.
It is also possible to fly to Cebu and then a private van will take you overland to southern Cebu (approx. 5 hours). There they board the ferry, which takes them to Negros in about 40 minutes. When you arrive in Sibulan you will be met by our hotel bus and driven to the resort.
Tip:
If your international flight in Manila arrives at Terminal 1 and you need to go to Terminal 3, take the free terminal transfer bus, which runs at regular intervals between the terminals.
And when they get into a taxi in Manila, they demand that the driver start the meter, despite all the objections and excuses. Otherwise it is very possible that you will experience a nasty surprise at the end of the trip.
